A place to belong in the heart of Paddington
Welcome, we're really glad you're here.
St Mary Mags began in 1865, planted from All Saints, Margaret Street. In 2019 we teamed up with Grand Junction to repair and extend the building, ensuring it's fit to serve the community around us. We have always and will aways have heart for the community on our doorstep. So, however you turn up, you're welcome here. No exceptions.
We hold four core values: an intelligent approach to the explanation of what we believe; to be a community shaped by the power and direction of the Spirit; we are on a journey towards becoming genuinely diverse, and to include all people regardless of sexual identity.
Simply, we want St Mary Mags to be a place where everyone can belong.
Come along on a Sunday for our 10am Traditional Mass, or if you fancy something quieter midweek, join us for Evening Prayer on Thursdays at 5.30pm.
You can also sign up for our next newcomers' lunch a relaxed chance to meet Kirstine and the leadership, share what we're about, and chat through what being part of St Mary Mags could look like for you.
Services at St Mary Mags
Sundays here are relaxed, warm, and about an hour long with refreshments after. Our Eucharistic Mass has an informal liturgy you can join with as you feel comfortable, the same goes for the worship.
Our church cafe is open before and after services if you want to grab a pastry or lunch.
Kids are always welcome, noise and all, we’ve got activity packs and toys on hand. However you turn up, there's a place for you here.
Need a quiet moment midweek?
Join us for Evening Prayer every Thursday at 5.30pm — just 20 relaxed minutes of prayer to reset
Where are we?
St Mary Magdalene, Rowington Cl, London W2 5TF
We are located between Warwick Avenue Station and Royal Oak (both a short walk); Paddington Station is 10 mins walk away along the canal and many buses serve our area.
Parking nearby is limited, though there's some street parking around the church.
Accessibility
St Mary Mags is step-free throughout.
There is lift access to every level of both the church and the new building (you can get to the lift via the Rowington Close entrance or, through the café, from the canal side.)
Accessible toilets are available on the ground floor and in the basement.
We have hearing loops and headphones for anyone who's hard of hearing, just let us know when you arrive and we'll sort you out.
Giving
St Mary Mags relies on giving by its congregation to fund everything it does.
We believe that everything we have comes from God, and we want to do what he wants with all areas of our lives, including our money. Through his provision and the generosity of our church family, we're able to serve our community and beyond. Every gift is gratefully received, none too big or small.
Thank you for your generosity!
